Excellent TV for your Hall
I had VU LC-42HC56 (LCD) purchased in 2008 and since then i am big fan of this brand when i compare money vs. quality of product. I used the LCD for almost 7 years flawlessly and finally decided to go for LED considering new generation need (USB DMP, Low power consumption, LED etc). Successfully sold LCD in excellent working condition for really good price (everyone who used to see it on my DISHTrueHD, did fall in love with it). So finally bought this new gen (and now lets move to its review) Pros: 1.Excellent Price 2.Excellent Design and build Quality. 3.Good quality picture (ALWAYS USE HD Content to judge, i have DishTVHD connection still 1080i and not 1080P so basically good) 4.Excellent Picture quality with DMP and 1080P content. 5.Great Features such as DMP, extra USB port, 3 HDMI, SPDIF Out,Quality remote, Satisfactory inbuilt speaker sound (i use with my own amp and Panasonic 3 way speakers), only 110 W power consumption (for a 50'' screen its really good compared to brightness and contrast it produces), low weight, good quality vesa mount and table stand. 6.For people who complain about Fat 32 support -> Grow Up because you are buying 50' HD TV for watching a freaking HD Content which has size of as low as 9 GB (min 5) for a full movie. So go format your HDD to latest file systems rather than seeking fat 32 support. Cons: Rarely could find any. But will try to list few. 1.No vivid, Natural color profiles available for fast switch 2.No audio gain feature for low volume content (it limits high gain to normal but does not amplify low volume to normal). This can be tweaked in new firmware upgrade. 3.USB extension is needed since TV is slick and when wall mounted its hard to plug in USB stick. Np Complaint about tv but Now my complaint about flipkart, I ordered 50K160 version but was sent 50K160GP version. I see few feature differences between flipkarts TV listed seperate webpages and major one was price difference so i am confused whether i have received intended version or not. (price difference of 3000 INR Between 50K160 and 50K160GP). However i am still keeping GP version and waiting for Flipkarts answer on why they have listed GP version separately for 3k less price than this version and why they send me this GP version when i purchased non GP version.

I bought this television on 9th Jan and got it delivered and installed on 11th Jan. Pros: 1. Very Nominal Price 2. Amazing Looks 3. Great Size 4. Extremely thin bezels (frame of the tv) - makes it look awesome 5. Great Picture quality 6. All kinds of hard disks and formats supported 7. 2 USBs and 2 HDMIs - enough for home use 8. Free mounting and installation Cons: 1. Limited options on sound/picture - can't compare it to Sony etc. - can be ignored 2. I played Avatar to check the picture quality - the sound was a bit low - can't comment on the sound quality as it was playing through hard disk - may be some other fault. Still need to put in DTH and check the HD channels and the sound. 3. Still exploring - didn't find any yet. Overall an amazing buy. I wanted a big size and a full HD TV without any useless SMART TV and 3D features. This was the perfect (huge) size with all my requirements and at a nominal price. Micromax, Onida, and Videocon were other options but Mircomax and Onida were not giving the reliable feeling. And the reviews were also moderate. So finally settled for Vu. This can be bought without a doubt.

Serious panel issue and digital audio out problems
I got this TV from Flipkart "twice". What I mean by twice is that I had to replace the first unit I got because it had the following problems 1. There is a thick black shadow on the right edge of the TV. You will notice it only when the entire screen is bright or during the "blue" screen when there is no signal. I saw the same problem in the first unit I got and the second replacement unit. This is a serious panel issue and can result in premature panel failure. 2. The digital audio out doesn't send audio to the connected AV receiver properly. You have to keep plugging out and plugging in the optical cable to get sound from the external AV receiver. Again the same problem existed in the two units that I got. This clearly indicate that this particular model of VU (32K160M) has serious manufacturing / quality control issues as two different units displayed the exact same problem. The panel issue being the most significant one. I would kindly request all the owners to check for the black shadow on the right edge of your TV. I don't know if all the units have this issue or some new batch has the issue. Flipkart said they will replace the TV again and I politely refused that and requesting them to either refund my money or get a different model. The model I am interested in getting is VU 32D6475 and its the latest version of the same TV that has problems. I hope Flipkart will understand my concern and do the needful. Thanks, John.
