Hawkeye is an upcoming smartphone from the Chinese company ZTE and was expected to hit the market in the middle of the year. ZTE had initiated an unorthodox campaign wherein it asked the people to come up with suggestions regarding its new phone and deemed to make the peculiar suggestion as the reference point upon which the phone would be developed.
As per the results of the poll, the Hawkeye was announced to feature a 'self-adhesive' back panel that enables it to stick to a variety of surface, such as walls and mirrors, and eye tracking ability that would allow the users to have a completely hands-free experience.
Other than that, the phone apparently has pretty standard features that remind you of any other mid-range smartphones, that include 3,000 mAh battery, 3GB RAM and a 5.5-inch display. This is where the problem lies.
According to reports, this has drawn the ire of those backing the project who expected it to pack high-end features. As a result, the Kickstarter campaign started by the company to fund the phone has stalled, leaving the its future hanging in the balance.
By the looks of it, the ZTE Hawkeye may not even see the light of the day if the company does not take fast action. The ZTE Hawkeye best price in India, if it comes, is expected to be around 14,999 INR. You can also subscribe to Smartprix to get alerts regarding the ZTE Hawkeye.
