Sony managed to keep its MWC 2016 line up under wraps, and surprised every one with the launch of a brand new X series, that aims to make your smartphone smarter. The first generation X series handsets include Xperia X, Xperia X performance and Xperia XA. The Xperia XA is the lowest end model of the three which replaces metal with polycarbonate, but still looks cool thanks to its distinctive almost-bezel-less 5-inch HD display that also features a curved glass on top. Talking of features and specifications, the Sony Xperia XA is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6755 Helio P10 chipset with 2GB RAM, 16GB internal storage and provision for MicroSD card (up to 200GB). The chipset seems good enough to drive Android Marshmallow based UI for basic and moderate users. The dual SIM handset includes a 13MP primary camera with 1/3” IMX258 Exmos RS sensor and has a 8MP Sony IMX219 Exmor R sensor with wide angle lens at the front for selfies. One of highlighted feature of all X series model is the ability of camera to lock focus on a moving object and predict its next location in space to avoid motion blur while shooting moving object. With its slim 7.9 mm casing, Sony Xperia XA houses a 2300 mAh battery. Another X series smart feature is Qnovo’s Adaptive Charging technology that charges you phone in a way that the battery retains maximum juice to prolong usage between charges. Other features include 4G LTE, WiFi 820.11 a/b/g/n , Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and NFC. The Sony Xperia XA is expected to launch in India in coming months.
