GX8 will be Huawei's launch vehicle in US, and its pretty cool for a $350 handset. The Huawei GX8 flaunts a real slick design, with 90 percent metal body and a fingerprint sensor included. With all the goodwill Nexus 6P has generated in the recent past, it only makes sense that Huawei forays into US mid-range market with a slick proposition.
The hardware is decidedly mid-range. There is 5.5 Inch full HD display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage, which you can further expand using MicroSD card slot. The camera hardware however is the highlight here. Huawei has included 13MP rear camera with wide aperture lens, sapphire lens, and Optical image stabilization which shall deliver good quality images even in low and tricky lighting. A front 5MP camera is also present for selfie lovers.
The handset is just 7.5 mm thick and yet manages to fit in a 3000 mAh battery. Clearly, Huawei is trying to focus on best possible mid-range user experience and neat packaging rather than towering specs themselves. We like the idea of Huawei GX8 but more can be judged only after a full review.
The lowest price of Huawei GX8 is expected to be around 23K, something similar to Honor 7. The final Huawei GX8 price in India will be revealed at the launch, which isn't expected to happen anytime soon. Its biggest hurdle will be phones like OnePlus X which are already available for lesser amount.
