The Essential Phone (PH-1) has Andy Rubins , the guy who made Android, as the brains behind it and is a premium, high-end smartphone that comes aiming at imbibing futuristic values in a smartphone.
The phone's design is a bit opposed to what we are used to seeing commonly, and has a 5.7-inch display (2K+ resolution) covering the display in almost its entirety, save for a small space foe the front camera. Fitted with a Snapdragon 835 SoC, the phone has a 4GB RAM supporting the chipset, while the ROM present inside is 128GB in size.
There is a dual 13MP camera unit on the back - while one is a monochrome, the other is a colored one. The cameras have dual-tone flash units on each sides for company and a couple of pogo pins have also been allotted space on the rear side of the Essential Phone. The pins are there either to magnetically hinge it tho modular accessories or for wireless charging of the handset. Up front, there is an 8MP selfie-snapper
The phone runs on Ambient OS and also has provisions for Essential Home, a circular home assistant that also has a touchscreen. Unlike the smartphones prevalent today, the Essential Phone (PH-1) has a body made up entirely of titanium.
The phone is currently available for purchase exclusively in the US and the Essential Phone (PH-1) best price in India is expected to be around 44,999INR.
