Introduction: I needed an upgrade to my 5½ years old Lenovo U410 Core i7. I wanted a great display and an SSD-only (no HDD) laptop, preferably with USB-C. I did my fare share of research on the reliability of MSI. I came across mixed reviews. Apparently the laptops are great, but after-sale services are shady! I am a gentle user, and I just wanted its components to last me half-a-decade. Purchase💸: I got a great deal with Flipkart offering ₹8,000 off, HDFC with ₹5,000 instant discount, and my old laptop exchanged for ₹10,500. I paid ₹54,590. Delivery 🚚: The delivery guy inspected my old laptop darn thoroughly 🕵️. Every corner, every port. 25 minutes and an LCD-Screen-Cleaner-drenched handkerchief later the guy handed my the new laptop. Unboxing ✂️: The white box is sleek, with a minimal MSI logo at the top, and branding at the sides. The first thing you notice is the lightweight body. Charger is small too. My friends and neighbours complimented on the design/looks and weight (also also, MSI is an unheard brand here). Display 💻: Yeah, it works great for me (only because I wouldn't trade my kidney for the XPS 13!) The narrow bezels are head-turners. I tweaked the saturation in PotPlayer, and I have absolutely no complaints.The anti-reflective coating is satisfactory. Keyboard: The keys are large and illuminated. Touchpad & fingerprint sensor 👆: It is small, but not a deal breaker for me. The fingerprint sensor is a neat feature you'll love to have. Performance 📈: Boots around 7-10 seconds with all my applications installed. The Core i5 can take light editing in Corel PSP 2018 with ease. The USB ports are fast (of course) and I am glad to use the USB-C to USB-C cable of my Pixel 2 XL. Heating 🔥: The laptop doesn't get warm at light use. However, the images in Flipkart showed two vents (and MSI's website exhibited 2 fans). But this 8M Core i5 model just has the one. Battery life 🔋: I didn't notice much drain. I used it in PotPlayer playing a 1080p video and the meter displayed '77% remaining' and will last for 3 hours 17 minutes. Hinge: The 180 degree hinge will not be exploited by me. I hardly get it past 135 degrees. But it's a cool feature to show-off (if need be). Conclusion: The laptop is great, I assure you. My only concern now is the warranty and durability of its electronic components.

Speed good but keyboard visibility is an issue.
the laptop is working fine but the keyboard is terrible in daylight. Not visible in sunshine.
