Powerful Laptop. Tested its rendering capabilities on Autodesk Maya and Autodesk Inventor and gave and gave fast performance in 1080p rendering and simulation, and slow performance when rendering with Maya paint effects. Overclocking abilities give a good VR experience even though GTX 1050 is not supposed to be VR ready for heavy games. With appropriate OC you will get fps nearly at par with a non-OC GTX 1050TI at max performance. The only thing it is short of is the number of CUDA cores, but owing to the price, it would not be feasible to expect many CUDA cores. Have some concerns about the durability of the body. It is a bit weak and should have been better. Hence you'll need to be careful while travelling. It turned out to be a better choice than the i7 version of gv62 as at 100% cpu usage while rendering it heats up to 85 C while 7700HQ reaches 95 C with same task. Further it has a better battery life than i7 version by about an hour.

GAMING BEAST
Got this laptop for 56k its a gaming beast. Product is nicely packed. MSI packaging is absolutely awesome. BUILD QUALITY Its a plastic build. Lid is a fingerprint magnet. With MSI logo on lid it demands respect from others. DISPLAY This laptop comes with TN anti glare panel, with 1080p screen. Colours are accurate. Horizontal viewing is not a issue, but you can notice colour change with change in vertical viewing angle. TOUCHPAD AND KEYBOARD Touchpad is big, keys are little hard to press. Once I updated drivers with windows precision drivers, it works really smooth supporting windows gestures. Keyboard is red backlit with three levels of brightness. Feels really good to type and game on it. Keys are spacious, big including direction arrows, unlike other laptops where up and down arrows are not spaced properly. Lot of shortcuts keys are there which are handy. SOFTWARE Laptop is initially loaded with DOS operating system. I updated with windows 10, works fine. But there is an issue, disk usage is almost 100 percent most of the time, which slows down the laptop. Drivers are preloaded which you can install when you install your preferred OS. This laptop has MSI Dragon Centre, where you can monitor fan speeds, temperatures, disk, CPU, GPU usage. You can also change fan speed, power options, RGB values. You can also control these setting using mobile app. SOUND This laptops supports installation of nahimic 2+ which can be downloaded from MSI official website. Front firing stereo speakers is really good, which is placed below keyboard. Sound quality is really good, but I would have liked more volume as the sound doesn't fill the room. COOLING MSI has dedicated cooling fans for CPU, GPU. It heats after long gaming sessions but cools down easily thanks to their cooling system. It also has dedicated button for turbo boost cooling. PORTS This laptop has 1 x USB 2.0, 2 x USB 3.0, 1 x USB 3.0 Type C, 1 x HDMI Port, 3-in-1 Card Reader (SD, SDHC, SDXC). which are spaced really well. WEIGHT This laptop weighs 2.2 kg, its lighter when compared to other laptops in this range where they weigh 2.6 kgs. MEMORY It contains 8 GB of ram which can be expanded up to 32 GB. It contains 1 TB HDD, SDD can be added later on. BATTERY LIFE The battery life is not great, as is the case with most gaming laptops today. I got not more than 2 and half hours of battery life from this laptop as a best case scenario. GAMING I tried FIFA 17, Far cry 3, Call of duty Ghosts. They give very good framerate with no lags. Most of the AAA titles will breeze through with medium to high settings. This laptop is a beast you will never regret buying this.
