As a gamer moving from Acer/Dell to ASUS gaming laptops, i found many things different with this product harware and software. Hardware: 1. CPU: RYZEN 7 6800H a) There is still no way to properly undervolt or underclock this as of now b) RyzenMaster or other software dont support this processor yet c) overcloking is still not available - as multiple clocking softwares dont recognise this CPU 2. FAN control: - There is no manual fan control (unlike in Acer Predator or Dell G series laptops etc) - even with any additional software - Fan RPM control DOESN'T exist. 3. GPU: - U can undervolt the gpu using MSI afterburner - No limitation on the voltage for GPU 4. Weight: - Not too heavy for a 17 inch gaming laptop - only 2.6KG (some might want a lighter laptop - but for me a 17inch gaming laptop should weight atleast 3-3.5kg) 5. Sound: - Its really bad, they needed to compromise somewhere and this is one of the point where it was compromised - It has a 2 way noise cancellation for mic - but the sound loudness and quality are pathetic - similar to a basic (20-30k laptops) - Even with dolby in it - when you listen to music on full volume - you cant even hear it in the next room or 10ft away 6. Display: - Its quite decent and you can control the RGB curves from a preset settings - Onboard graphics from AMD is quite good compared to Intel 7. HEATING: - Because of its Thin size and optimization - this this heats up heavily - EVEN ON IDLE MODE - IDLE mode temps go upto 60 Degrees - Gaming temps (low/best) - 85 - 98 degrees - Even if you use 5 to 6 tabs on your browser - temps reach 60-70 degrees 7a) Not sure what thermal paste to use in this - Thermal paste or Liquid metal 8. Other Features: a) MUX switch: Best thing is a MUX switch - where you can run your GPU discretely (drawback: battery would drain faster) b) Type C ports c) WIFI - 6 PROS & CONS: PROS: 1) Display 2) Performance 3) display 4) Less weight CONS: 1) Heating 2) Sound Quality 3) Less Wight 4) NO underclock/undervolt 5) NO overclocking
