Samsung’s next clamshell foldable, the Galaxy Z Flip6, will launch next month at Galaxy Unpacked. While everyone awaits the official announcement, we’ve managed to uncover the Galaxy Z Flip6’s pricing and variants for the US market in association with OnLeaks. Brace yourselves—unfortunately, the pricing is higher than expected.

The Galaxy Z Flip6 is rumored to bring some upgrades to the table, such as a new 50 MP main sensor and a higher capacity battery. Another thing that’s getting higher is the price. The Galaxy Z Flip6 will be available in two storage configurations—256 GB and 512 GB. Here are the leaked prices:

  • Galaxy Z Flip6 256 GB: $1099.99 USD
  • Galaxy Z Flip6 512 GB: $1219.99 USD

The Galaxy Z Flip6 will be available in four colorways—Mint, Silver Shadow, Yellow, and Blue. The device will weigh 187g, which is exactly the same as its predecessor. Nevertheless, the display will also remain the same size at 6.7 inches.

Galaxy Z Flip6 India Pricing

While we don’t have the official details of the Galaxy Z Flip6’s pricing in India yet, we can surely make an educated guess. The Galaxy Z Flip5 was launched at INR 99,999 for the 256 GB variant and INR 1,09,999 for the 512 GB variant.

Since Samsung typically doesn’t strictly follow current conversion rates, we can assume that the Galaxy Z Flip6 would be priced around INR 1,09,999 for the 256 GB variant and INR 1,19,999 for the 512 GB variant in India.

Is a $100 hike justified?

Coming back to the price of the Galaxy Z Flip6, each variant has a markup of $100. Earlier today, we also revealed the pricing of the Galaxy Z Fold6, which has a similar markup of about $100 on each variant. Unfortunately, it seems the Galaxy Z Flip6 might not pack enough upgrades to justify the price hike.

While many brands (OPPO and Vivo) are ditching clamshell foldables, Samsung appears to be capitalizing on the opportunity. However, with Honor, Motorola, and a few others still in the game, let’s hope Samsung steps up its game to tackle the competition head-on.

What are your thoughts on the pricing? Would you pay an extra $100 for Samsung’s upcoming foldables? Let us know in the comments section below. Also, stay tuned for the Galaxy Unpacked event that is purported to be held on July 10 in Paris, France.
