Close on the heels of Canvas 2 (2017) launch, Micromax today presented the Yureka Black, another budget phone that aims to cash in on Nostalgia of the yesteryear blockbuster Yureka – the CynogenOS based handset that helped YU gain online acceptance overnight.

Let’s talk about the hardware of the new Yureka Black first. The handset comes with a 5-inch Full HD display protected by 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3. It’s powered by Snapdragon 430 quad-core processor with 4GB RAM and 32GB storage.

For photography, there is a basic 13MP rear camera with dual LED flash and an 8MP front camera with selfie flash. The battery capacity is 3000mAh, which might place it at a disadvantage compared to its arch nemesis Redmi 4, especially since it has a more densely packed display.

It’s a metal unibody design phone and the fingerprint sensor is mounted on the front, integrated with the home button. You can buy Yureka Black in India in two colors – gloosy black and matte black – exclusively from Flipkart for 8,999 INR.

Back in the day, the original Yureka was a formidable challenger to Xiaomi’s Redmi Note. Today, the Yureka Black will directly go against the Redmi 4 in India. Both phones do have comparable hardware, but it’s still too soon to judge which one wins.
