Xiaomi has started rolling out media invites for its upcoming event on January 19 to be held in the national capital, and it looks like the company is going to launch Redmi Note 4 at the event. The Chinese technology company is running an explorer contest for its fans where it will dish out few Redmi Note devices for them to experience before the official launch. Xioami used the same promotional strategy last year before Redmi Note 3 launch that eventually turned out to be a huge success.

The successor of Redmi Note 3 was first introduced back in China last year. The Chinese variant of Redmi Note 4 comes with unibody metal exterior and includes a non-removable 4,100mAh battery similar to its predecessor. Back home, it comes in two memory and storage options – 2GB RAM with 16GB ROM and 3GB RAM+64GB ROM. The phone flaunts a 5.5-inch full HD display layered with 2.5D curved glass. The Redmi Note 4 optics include a 13MP primary camera and 5MP selfie camera.

However, Xiaomi is likely to introduce a Qualcomm-powered Redmi Note 4 In India as it is barred from selling phones based on MediaTek chipset due to an ongoing patent infringement tussle with Ericsson.

A few days ago, some leaks suggested that Xiaomi is working on a Redmi Note 4X smartphone which will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 chipset mated to 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It will be running on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8.1 on top. We will have wait till Jan 19 to see what Xiaomi has in its store for India: will it be Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Note 4X.
