Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Blue and Black Colour Options Launched In India

The Xiaomi Redmi S2 was launched in India as Redmi Y2 for a starting price of Rs 9,999 in three colour options- Gold, Rose Gold and Dark Grey. Now, the company has launched the device in two more colour options – Mesmerising Blue and Stunning Black.

Redmi Y2 is primarily a selfie-centric phone having markable selfie camera for its price. Other key specifications of Redmi Y2 include 5.99-inch HD+ display, Snapdragon 625, Android 8.1 Oreo, and dedicated fingerprint sensor.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Features

The device sports a 5.99-inch HD+ display with 1440 x 720p resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a decent chipset Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor clocked at 2GHz, along with Adreno 506 GPU. The memory options assisting the processor feature 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage configurations. The memory is expandable upto 256GB via microSD. Redmi Y2 runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is driven by a 3,080 mAh battery. The phone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.


For the phone’s rear camera, the Redmi Y2 carries a 12-megapixel primary camera with PDAF, LED Flash and 5MP secondary camera that gives AI portrait shots.

For its front camera, the device features a 16MP selfies snapper. Connectivity features on Redmi Y2 board consists of dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, and a micro USB port. The phone measures 160.73 x 77.26 mm x 8.1 mm and weighs 170g.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 Price

The new colour variants will be retailed via Amazon India and Mi.com starting tomorrow onwards at Rs 9,999 starting price. With this new addition, Redmi Y2 is now available in a total of 5 colour options.

The price for its basic memory variant is pegged at Rs. 9,999 for 3GB RAM + 32GB storage, and the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs Rs. 12,999.
