Xiaomi just outed its Mi Note 2, which borrows those striking curved 3D glass edges merging in a metal side frame design from Samsung’s hapless Note 7. Since this is the new Xiaomi flagship, the specs are expectedly top-notch.

You get the latest Snapdragon 821 beast with 4GB RAM + 64GB UFS 2.0 storage or 6GB RAM + 128GB UFS 2.0 storage, a 22.56MP Sony IMX318 rear camera with f/2.0 aperture optics, Fingerprint sensor clubbed with the front home button, Infrared sensor, Global LTE band support and a 4000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support.

As you would expect from a Note device, the display being used is 5.7-inches in size and that’s precisely why the full HD 1080P resolution should feel lackluster, more so because it’s an OLED panel.

The vertical bezels are also quite beefy and restrict the screen-to-body ratio to just 77.1 percent, in spite of that almost edge to edge screen. Also, that circular camera sensor feels hideous, at least in the press renders.

Does this qualify as a consolatory Galaxy Note 7? No Sir, not unless Xiaomi manages to make room for a stylus.
