Xiaomi rebranded its Mi 5X as Mi A1 for international markets India, which worked well for the company. Now, Mi 5X successor – the Mi 6X (aka Mi A2) made an appearance on the certification site in China – TENAA – giving us first glimpse of its spec sheet.

If the leaked Mi A2 specifications are true, the upcoming phone is likely to sport a 5.99-inch FHD+ display (2160×1080) with an 18:9 aspect ratio. It’s also interesting to note that while most Chinese brands are copying iPhone X’s bad notch, Xiaomi is staying away from it. At least, for the Mi A2.

The Mi A2 is said to employ a 2.2GHz octa-core Snapdragon 626 chipset which is mated to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone is rumoured to ship with a 2,910mAh battery which is in line with previous leaks.

The leaked specs-sheet also throws some light on the optics of the alleged Mi A2. The Mi 6X is said to feature a dual rear camera setup of a 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel with f/2.0 and f/1.8 apertures, respectively. Xiaomi will also be bumping up the selfie camera with a 20-megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

On the software front, the Mi 6X is expected to ship with Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10 out-of-the-box. However, Xiaomi is expected to continue its partnership with Google for Android One and ship the Mi A2 with stock android without any sort of customization.

As far as the Mi A2 dimensions are concerned, there are two leaks suggesting a slight difference in hight. While the latest leak suggests it will be 165mm tall whereas last weeks TENNA listing mentions it’s dimensioned as 158.88×75.54×7.3mm. Nonetheless, it is difficult to authenticate these latest set of Mi A2 leaks and we’d advise you to take these specs with a pinch of salt.
