Xiaomi has made an announcement to organize a global launch event for the first time in India on April 23. The event has been named as Global Mi Phone Premiere event. This event is providing free entry to the fans by facilitating the availability of free tickets. There is an exclusive opportunity for teen lucky fans who will get a chance to avail access to the premiere with an exclusive discussion session with Hugo Barra, the International Vice President for Xiaomi.
In the teaser of the mega event, there was great emphasis on “I is coming”, which is expected to be the signal for a new launch by Xiaomi in India. This phrase is being considered to signify the revelation of a new smartphone which could possibly be a lower end variant of Xiaomi’s latest flagship smartphone Mi 4. The newbie by Xiaomi is being presumed to be called as Xiaomi Mi 4i, which would feature an ARM octa-core processor instead of Mi 4’s Snapdragon SoC and is expected to be a LTE enabled smartphone which will run Android Lollipop OS integrated with Xiaomi’s MiUi. The new smartphone was first seen on the database of IDA Singapore. Followed by this, it was later spotted on the Geekbench website for benchmark testing.
The event is scheduled for April 23rd at 2:30 PM at Siri Fort Auditorium Complex, Asiad Village Complex,New Delhi. The event will be attended by CEO & Founder Lei Jun, President & Co-founder Bin Lin, and VP Xiaomi Global Hugo Barra. Those who attend the event will be gifted with a goodie bag and other surprise gifts. To register for the event, you have to login to mi.com/in. The fans who will get to attend the event will be shortlisted on April 16.
