Xiaomi 12 Pro India launch teased; Will take on iPhone 13, OnePlus 10 Pro & iQOO 9 Pro

Minutes before OnePlus was about to launch of its flagship OnePlus 10 Pro device in India, Xiaomi announced that it is bringing Xiaomi 12 Pro to the country. The smartphone is expected to launch in the last week of April and claims to give a run for its money to the existing OnePlus 10 Pro, iPhone 13, and Iqoo 9 Pro devices.

Xiaomi 12 Pro has already been launched in several international markets (namely China and Europe) and now it hopes to make its mark in India as well. Xiaomi India’s Manu Kumar Jain took to his Twitter handle to announce Xiaomi 12 Pro for India.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Price & Color Variants (expected)

In China, Xiaomi 12 Pro is available in 2 storage models-

  • 8GB RAM+128GB storage- CNY 4699 (Rs. 56,300)
  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- CNY 5399 (Rs. 64,700)

In India too, it is expected to be priced at around Rs. 60,000. It might come in blue, purple, black, and grey colors.

Xiaomi 12 Pro Specs

Because it has already launched in other markets, we already know about the specs of the Xiaomi 12 Pro. It sports a 6.67-inch 2K AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, Gorilla Glass Victus, 1500 nits peak brightness, and a curved screen. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and runs Android 12 based MIUI 13 out of the box.

If we talk about camera specs, it has a triple camera setup at the back. The setup includes a 50MP main Sony IMX707 sensor with OIS, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP telephoto lens. There is a 32MP front camera too.

The Xiaomi 12 Pro packs a 4600mAh battery with 120W wired fast charging support and 50W wireless charging support. It has 10W reverse wireless charging support as well. It comes with stereo speakers, an in-display fingerprint scanner, IR Blaster, and a USB Type-C port.

Xiaomi 12 Series consists of 3 variants- Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 which are selling globally. Xiaomi 12 Ultra is also speculated to be launching soon. So, it will be interesting to see if other Xiaomi 12 models also come to India in the future.
