Xiaomi has made a grand entry into the world of EVs. The company has hosted a ‘Stride’ event in China, announcing the 5 best technological features it is bringing to its EVs and releasing the first look of its Sedan SU7. The company has invested 10 times of what its competitor Tesla has been spending and over 5000 engineers to make EVs that will top the charts. Let us first talk about the 5 core EV Technologies that Xiaomi has been trying to excel in. Later on, we talked about the first EV, Xiaomi SU7.

1. Xiaomi E-Motor

Xiaomi has been researching hard to develop E-Motors that are most powerful. The brand has unveiled V6 and V6s motors that are currently in mass mass-production stage. The motors offer a max rotor speed of 21,000 rpm. The Xiaomi Hyper Engine V8s has also been announced to reach 27,200 rpm fitting into vehicles in 2025.

2. Battery

Xiaomi has built its battery pack production plant that makes the most powerful batteries for EVs. The brand also talked about the CTB (Cell-to-body) tech that saves space in the battery pack, allowing more room for occupants. The battery pack is 120mm thick and has a volumetric efficiency of 77.8%. The CTB tech has a capacity of up to 150kWh and a CLTC range of up to 1200km. Xiaomi has made 800V battery packs partnering with CATL devoting 1000s of engineers and 2 years.

3. HyperCasting

Tesla first introduced the die-casting tech and Xiaomi has now taken it to the next level by introducing a 9100-ton die-casting machine.

Xiaomi has even developed its alloy material- Xiaomi Titans Metal- a heat-free, durable, and ecologically friendly casting material. The brand has been using this material on a large scale internally. It has been used in SU7 models’ 72-in-1 integrated die-cast rear floor.

4. Autonomous Driving

Xiaomi EVs will offer autonomous diving features like self-parking. The EVs use high-resolution cameras, Lidar, Ultrasonic, and radar. The brand claims that its autonomous driving capabilities of Xiaomi cars would be at the forefront of the industry.

5. Smart Cabin

Xiaomi’s Smart Cabin features a 16.1-inch tablet-like 3K display and a 56-inch HUD. The EV uses the fastest Snapdragon 8295 chip and runs Xiaomi HyperOS with various customizations and personalization. The OS offers comprehensive refactoring, interconnectivity, proactive intelligence, end-to-end security, and an open platform.
