Earlier this year, Xiaomi unveiled its flagship Xiaomi 14 series, which included the regular Xiaomi 14 (review) and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. The phones went on sale in March 2024. With exceptional optics and top-tier performance, the smartphones command a premium price tag. However, it has hardly been a few months since the launch, and rumors about the Xiaomi 15 Ultra, the anticipated successor to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, have started to do rounds on the internet.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra Could Feature Three Rear Panel Materials
According to the Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will come with three different finishes and unique materials. First, the phone will ship with a fake leather finish, which could be some form of vegan leather. Second, the phone will ship with a glass back, which could feature a glossy or matte finish, depending on the phone’s design language. Last but not least, the company could manufacture the phone with a ceramic back too.
If you pay close attention, these are the finishes with which the current flagships are available. Hence, by ensuring that its upcoming flagship offers all the options, the company is looking forward to grabbing a decent percentage of the market. For instance, the Galaxy S24 Ultra features a matte finish, while the OnePlus 12 comes in the Flowy Emerald (marble-like) finish. Those looking for an example of a phone with a glass back should look at options like the iPhone 12 or iPhone 13.

Last but not least, the smartphone could feature a first-in-the-industry 200MP telephoto camera, which could provide 4x optical zoom and a higher hybrid zoom.
