Xiaomi, the prominent technology company, held a launch event in China yesterday, unveiling the Xiaomi 15 Ultra smartphone, which is the latest addition to the Xiaomi 15 series. Following the earlier releases of the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro, the Ultra variant has now been introduced in China ahead of the Mobile World Congress (MWC).

The global release of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is scheduled for March 2nd, with expectations for its arrival in India around the same period. This new model serves as the successor to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which debuted in 2024.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Features

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra flaunts a large 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate and 3200 nits brightness. The display supports 1440×3200 pixel resolution and offers 300Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. The smartphone supports dual SIM and runs Android 15 based Hyper OS 2 out of the box.

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB UFS 4.1 storage. The smartphone has an Adreno 830 GPU. In terms of camera optics, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra gets a quad rear camera system at the back. The setup includes a 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT900 primary camera with OIS along with a 50MP Sony IMX858 sensor with 3x zoom, 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP9 telephoto sensor and a 50MP ultrawide camera at the back. The phone gets a 32MP sensor at the front for selfies and video calls.

Under the hood, Xiaomi 15 Ultra packs a 6000mAh battery with 90W wired and 80W wireless charging speeds. It even supports reverse wireless charging. Connectivity options include 5G, NFC, GLONASS, GPS, USB Type-C, Galileo, BeiDou, and more. For security, there is an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. Xiaomi 15 Ultra is IP68 rated for dust and splash resistance.

Talking about dimensions, the black and white versions measure 161.3mmx75.3mmx9.35mm. Other variants have a thickness of 9.48mm and they weigh 229 grams.

Xiaomi 15 Ultra: Pricing

Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes in three storage configurations-

  • 12GB RAM+256GB storage- CNY 6499 (Rs. 78,000)
  • 16GB RAM+512GB storage- CNY 6999 (Rs. 84,000)
  • 16GB RAM+1TB storage- CNY 7799 (Rs. 93,000)

It comes in classic black and silver, pine and cypress green, black and white hues. Xiaomi is also offering a Professional Imaging kit as an accessory which retails for CNY 999 (Rs. 12,000).

Xiaomi has also rolled out the SU7 Ultra, which can attain a top speed of 350km/h and go from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds. It starts at 529,900 yuan and can be ordered via the Xiaomi EV app.
