WhatsApp can be dubbed as one of the most popular instant messaging applications that keep experimenting with new features to enhance the user experience. Currently, the platform is all set to introduce a new feature that will let the users report status updates.

All the beta testers of WhatsApp will now be able to see a ‘report’ button in the status options. According to the reports by WABetaInfo, the users can report any status update that violates the Terms of Service. The same information will be sent to the moderation team of the brand.

In simple terms, whenever a user reports a status update, and if the update is really found violating WhatsApp terms and conditions by the moderation team, then the account of that particular user will be suspended. In addition to that, the feature will also ensure that all the stuff shared on the platform is end-to-end encrypted.

This states that no one (WhatsApp, proxy provider, or even Meta) will have the authority to read the messages of the users. Reports suggested that the report status update is already available for a handful of beta testers of the application. In the future, expectations are that the feature will be released for more users all around the globe.

Apart from that, WhatsApp is also working on the revamp of the status tab. The new design will consist of newsletters, too, initially for the Android beta version. The platform is also planning to change the status tab and add two sections to it, including status and newsletters.
