Vivo V5s With 20-Megapixel Selfie Camera and 4GB RAM Launched At Rs. 18,990

Vivo’s latest addition to its selfie brigade, the V5s, is now official. Technically, it is the fourth phone in Vivo V5 series after V5 Plus IPL edition, V5 Plus and V5. The smartphone is priced at Rs 18,990 and will be available on both online and offline channels. The phone can be pre-booked starting today and the matte black variant Mwill be available on retail shelves starting May 6, 2017. The crown gold version will be available starting May 20.

So how is Vivo V5s different from Vivo V5? Well, first and foremost are the cosmetic changes. It flaunts U-shaped antenna bands just as in Vivo V5 Plus. And secondly, the storage has been doubled to 64GB.

As far as specifications are concerned, the Vivo V5s boasts a 5.5-inch display with 2.5D curved glass display, Corning Gorilla Glass protection, and 1280 x 720 pixels HD resolution. Similar to its selfie-centric predecessor – the Vivo V5, it too employs a MediaTek MT6750 chipset and paired it with 4GB of RAM for all the heavy lifting.

It comes with 64GB onboard storage, which if required can be bumped up to 256GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow which is garnished with Funtouch OS 2.6. The phone is backed up by a 3,000mAh battery.

The Vivo V5s boasts a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and LED flash. On the front, there is a 20-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX376 sensor, 5P lens and Moonlight Flash for low light selfies and video chats. The default camera app comes loaded with beautiful, panorama, HDR, Night and other features.

It comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button which as per company claim can unlock the phone in less than 0.2 seconds. For connectivity, it supports 4G LTE, dual SIM, WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/GLONASS, OTG support, a microUSB port 2.0. Audiophiles can enjoy Hi-Fi audio system with an AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip. The handset measures 153.8 x 75.5 x 7.55mm and weighs 154 grams.
