The Vivo X100 series didn’t fail to impress with its camera prowess, capable processor, and excellent multimedia experience. Now, as we inch closer to the yearly upgrade cycle, rumors about the X200 series are surfacing on the internet. The most recent one comes from a reliable tipster on Weibo (the Chinese alternative of X). Without any further ado, let’s dive right into it.

Vivo X200 Could Come With A Smaller Screen
According to Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station, the Vivo X200 will have a smaller screen when compared to the X100 series. Even though companies have pivoted from small-screen flagships to ones with bigger, better displays that support higher refresh rates and resolutions, Vivo might just revive the compact flagship market (unless of course, the rumor doesn’t come out to be true).
While DCS mentions that Vivo X200 will carry a small screen, it will still retain a 1.5K resolution. The phone could also feature a panel with symmetrical bezels on all sides. From what it looks like, this could be an attempt to differentiate between the regular X200 and the X200 Pro. With the X100 series, both the regular and the Pro models shipped with a 6.78-inch 1.5K LTPO AMOLED screen that supported 120Hz refresh rate. Hence, the difference in size will allow buyers to select the preferred option.

Vivo X200: 50MP Primary Camera And Improved Battery
Further, DCS mentions that the X200 could sport a custom 50MP Sony sensor as its main camera, with a 3x telephoto sensor for clicking zoomed-in images. While the tipster doesn’t mention anything about an ultrawide camera, earlier reports have suggested the presence of a 50MP ultra-wide camera for sharper shots.
Earlier this year, OnePlus revealed a new type of battery technology that claimed to revolutionize the smartphone industry. From DCS’s translated Weibo post, we understand that the X200 (or the entire series) could feature the same high-density silicone battery cells for an improved daily usage time (and battery lifespan). That is the extent of information we have from the tipster’s post.

The X200 Series Could Debut Later This Year
The X200 Pro, on the other hand, could stick with the large-screen form factor with 1.5K resolution. Further, it should feature a better camera setup, battery, and an improved in-display fingerprint scanner (optical on the X200 vs. ultra-sonic on the X200 Pro). Both the phones could debut in their native market later this year and within a few months in the international markets like India.
