TL;DR
- The first two pictures showcase how the Find N5’s side profile (when unfolded) is about half as thick as that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.25mm).
- Most brick-style or candybar flagships are about 8mm thick, and the Oppo Find N5 will be about as thick when folded
Ahead of its official launch, Oppo Find series’ product manager, Zhou Yibao, has shared some pictures of the Find N5. In the teaser images, the company has compared the foldable’s thickness to everyday items like coins, credit cards, or sticky notes.

Oppo Find N5 Is Exceptionally Thin; Here’s Proof

- The first two pictures showcase how the Find N5’s side profile (when unfolded) is about half as thick as that of the iPhone 16 Pro Max (8.25mm). The Find N5’s frame is just as thick to accommodate the USB-C charging port; that’s wild.
- In another teaser, we can see the Oppo Find N5 next to a pile of four credit cards, and both appear to be equally high.

- Another image shows the Find N5 next to two Chinese Yuan coins. Given that one Yuan coin is 1.85mm thick, and the phone’s side profile is slightly taller than that, the Find N5’s thickness should be around 4mm when unfolded.

For some perspective, most brick-style or candybar flagships are about 8mm thick, and the Oppo Find N5 will be about as thick when folded; that’s a commendable feat for a smartphone manufacturer that gave us the Find N3 two years ago; the phone was 11.7mm thick when folded.
Currently, the title of the thinnest foldable rests with the Honor Magic V3. When open, the phone has a thickness of 4.35mm. However, the teasers confirm that the Find N5 will dethrone the Magic V3 and keep the crown for itself.
Oppo Find N5’s IP Rating Confirmed
In another Weibo post, the executive confirmed an IPX9 water resistance rating for the Oppo Find N5. While that means that the phone should withstand high-pressure water jets, it also means that the phone doesn’t have a dust protection rating.
Anyway, the foldable is of huge importance for the company. First, it marks the company’s return to the segment after about two years since the Find N3 came out. Second, the company could launch it as the OnePlus Open 2 in the West, where it will compete with the Fold 6 and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
