Amazon and Flipkart are hailed as the two most popular delivery entities in India. Out of which, Amazon also has a strong international presence too. However, there are a few dark sides of these item delivery organizations, and one of the most prominent ones is getting wrong order or almost getting duped in the name of the order. Same kind of case happened with a man from the United Kingdom who placed an order for a MacBook Pro from Amazon and got dog food instead.

According to a report by Yahoo, Alan Wood of Derbyshire ordered a MacBook Pro from Amazon for his daughter that cost him around 1200 pounds, roughly converting to Rs 1,20,000, on November 29, 2022. Surprisingly, he got around five pounds of dog food instead of the laptop which he was waiting for. Wood told Amazon that the package shipped by Amazon consisted of two boxes of Pedigree dog food, including 24 packets of ‘mixed selection in Jelly’ flavors.

The disappointing part of the scenario is that, according to Wood, the Amazon support team was not helping him at all to solve the issue smoothly. Amazon executives told him that they could not help him until he returned the laptop, which he never got in the first place.

Wood mentioned that he tried to connect with Amazon multiple times and has spent over 15 hours on calls to Amazon. The matter was further escalated to the managerial level and was even transferred to other departments, but nothing worked to his advantage.

Like any other loyal customer of Amazon for a long time, Wood was seriously disappointed by the kind of behavior he encountered. He ended his statement by saying that he would refrain from ordering anything expensive or even cheap from the platform as he would never be able to trust the process again. On the other hand, one of the Amazon officials was also in touch with the publication regarding updates on the matter. He said that the customer (Alan Wood) would be provided with a complete refund pretty soon.
