TCL P725 4K LED TVs with AndroidTV 11 launched in India

TCL India has taken the veil off its P725 model of smart LED televisions. These come in three sizes viz. 43-inch, 50-inch, 55-inch, and 65-inch. All are 4K Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Audio compatible. The brand also claims these as the first Android TV 11-based TVs in the country. Besides the new TVs, we also got to witness the unveiling of the TCL’s Ocarina Smart air conditioners.

TCL P725 TVs Highlights

The display features of the TCL P725 TVs include 4K resolution, HDR (Dolby Vision also), 60Hz refresh rate, and MEMC motion smoothness. On the audio front, you get a 24W speaker system backed by Dolby Audio smarts. Additionally, the proprietary AiPQ Engine claims to upscale both video and audio in real-time, thanks to “chipset enabled TCL algorithm processes”.

There are 3 HDMI ports (one of which supports eARC), 2 USB ports, and RJ45. Wirelessly speaking, there is dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0. The software is Android TV 11. TCL claims this as the first TVs to sport the latest Android TV 11 out of the box in the country. This is coupled with TCL Channel, which as per the company is an “enhanced waterfall-flow interface developed by TCL, designed in a content-first display across your favourite apps. Access the hottest and best in local and global content – including Hotstar’s, Netflix. TCL Channel boasts more providers – including MX Player, Docubay, Epic On, and more. Discover holiday collections for Diwali; plus, language content including Tamil, Kannada, and Marathi”.

Rest, you get your Google Play app library and Google Assistant. You can also use voice control to switch channels, set reminders, and other basic tasks. There is also a built-in video call camera here, which should come in handy in the new Zooming age.

Pricing and Availability

  • The TCL P725 43″ model is priced at Rs. 41,990; the 50″ model at Rs. 56,990 and 55″ model at Rs. 62,990, and 65″ variant for Rs. 89,990. At the moment, the largest size variant will be available for purchase exclusively via Amazon. Other sizes will soon be out on sale too, although the timeline isn’t divulged yet.
  • TCL Ocarina Smart AC series (1-ton, 1.5-ton, and 2-ton) will be available exclusively via the TCL India online store starting at Rs. 33,990. You can pre-order it from March 20.
