The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is just around the corner and while the World Cup will officially begin on 16th October, the Indian team will kickstart its campaign from October 23rd in a clash against Pakistan. The Indian contingent led by Rohit Sharma has already reached Australia where the net practice sessions have also begun.
Indian team has reached the World Cup after winning back-to-back T20I series against Australia and South Africa at home and is one of the favorites to win the cup this time. Indian cricket fans expect a turnaround from their favorites as the team crashed out of the group stage of the T20 World Cup in 2021 in UAE.
Meanwhile, the Super 12 stage of the tournament saw India begining the campaign on a high as they won their 1st match against arch-rivals Pakistan in the last over courtesy of Virat Kohli. The winning streak continued as India won against the Netherlands in their next match. However, Indian fans were disheartened when the team lost against South Africa in a very close encounter but the team came back right on track after defeating Bangladesh by 6 runs and making their way to the top of the table. India finished the group stage at the top of the table after beating Zimbabwe with 79 runs. The team crashed out in the semi-final against England on thursday, meanwhile, the 1st semi-final took place between Pakistan and New Zealand wherein Pakistan defeated New Zealand to reach the finals. Today is the final between Pakistan and England.
