Where is Gi-Hun? What is his situation?

The opening scene of the second season establishes the overall atmosphere of the series. It is presented in two segments. The episode centers on Gi-Hun, illustrating the turmoil in his life following his victory in the games. Although he was preparing to leave the country, he ultimately chose to remain. At this moment, he receives a call from The Frontman, who informs him that he should have departed. Gi-Hun is taken aback by the Frontman’s knowledge of his whereabouts and later discovers that the organizers have implanted a small tracking device within him to monitor his location. He subsequently extracts the device and disposes of it by flushing it down the drain.

The narrative advances two years into the future, where Gi-Hun is utilizing his winnings to pursue The Recruiter. He has assembled a team dedicated to scouring every train station, bus terminal, subway station, and similar location in search of the Recruiter. Despite their extensive efforts over two years, they fail to locate him, leading Gi-Hun’s team to question his sanity. Eventually, they spot the Recruiter, who is occupied with recruiting new participants for the Squid Games.
