Sony, renowned for its flagship active noise-canceling (ANC) earphones, is set to impress once again with its upcoming offering. Following the success of the WF-1000XM3 and the impressive improvements of the WF-1000XM4, the highly anticipated Sony WF-1000XM5 ANC earbuds are generating excitement among audio enthusiasts. Leaked renders obtained by Winfuture provide a glimpse of what we can expect from Sony’s top-tier ANC earbuds this year.

The unofficial renders released by Winfuture showcase the design of the Sony WF-1000XM5 earbuds, offering a clean and detailed look at the upcoming device. In contrast to previous FCC filing images, these renders provide a clearer representation of the final product.

The renders reveal a glossy body for the earbuds, while the touch areas feature a matte finish, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.

Additionally, The Walkman Blog offers a size comparison between the XM5 and its predecessor, the XM4, assuming both utilize the same ear tips. This comparison, combined with the information that each earbud weighs 5.9g and the case weighs 39g, suggests that the XM5 is 1.4g lighter than its predecessor, contributing to enhanced comfort during prolonged usage.

According to the second leak, the earbuds are expected to offer up to 24 hours of battery life when used with the case. Furthermore, the earbuds are rumored to support quick charging, with just 3 minutes of charging in the case reportedly providing an hour of playback time. Additional features mentioned in the leak include Qi wireless charging support and multipoint connection capabilities.

While Sony has not yet revealed any official details or teased the WF-1000XM5, enthusiasts eagerly await news of the device’s official launch date. Pricing information is also currently undisclosed; however, it is anticipated that the WF-1000XM5 will be priced above the $280 launch price of its predecessor, considering the advanced features and improvements expected from this highly anticipated model.
