Sony launched its new flagship camera for sports and wildlife photography enthusiasts. The launch of Sony a9 in India marks the beginning of the full-frame mirrorless DSLRs, as it is world’s first full-frame mirrorless camera stacked with CMOS sensor of 24.2 MP resolution.
Sony’s a9 features a new electronic shutter which operates silently without producing any mechanical noise that could be undesirable when shooting in a quiet environment.
The camera also offers blackout-free shooting at up to 20 frames per second and a maximum shutter speed of up to 1/32,000 per second. Apart from this Sony a9 supports 4k (3840x2160p) video recording and an ultra-high quality video content.
The Sony A9 camera has ISO sensitivity of 100-51200, 5-axis image stabilization, a tilting 3-inch touchscreen display, EVF, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and video recording.
“The 35mm full-frame stacked Exmor RS CMOS sensor enables data speed processing at up to 20 times faster than previous Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras,” noted Sony company in the press statement.Sony India has priced Sony a9 at Rs 3,29,990 and the product will be available from July 29 onwards.
Apart from the camera, Sony has also introduced three new lenses — SEL100400GM, SEL1635GM, and SEL1224G — are priced at Rs 1,99,990, Rs 1,79,990 and Rs 1, 39,990, respectively.
The SEL100400GM and SEL1635GM will be available from July 24 onwards while model SEL1224G is already available in the market.
