After two months of Coronavirus-induced shutdown, Sony India has resumed the TV production in India and has re-opened its 92 retail shops as well. All TV manufacturing was temporarily paused due to the national lockdown but has now been relaxed in orange and green zones.

The Indian government released new guidelines on May 18 for the public to run their business. Keeping these into consideration, Sony has resumed its services, first starting from its inventory.

The company has exercised proper training to store executives that will ensure a hygienic routine within the premise. Sony explained, “To ensure a safe purchase experience, all stores have been enrolled under the ‘Suraksha Store’ certification scheme ensuring that they are fit for operation. Availability of necessary safety essentials such as sanitizers, masks, and disposables wipes have been put in place.”

“We were getting multiple requests from our customers to make products available, especially during the lockdown. With easing of lockdown restrictions and keeping customer’s demand in mind, Sony products are now available across several retail outlets and e-commerce platforms. Corresponding service centers are also operational along with nationwide Call Centre support,” said Sony India MD, Sunil Nayyar in a statement.
