Simple One electric scooter spotted in the testing phase on Bengaluru roads

The first electric scooter called Simple One from the house of Simple Energy has been spotted running on the roads of Bengaluru, obviously, for testing purposes. The e-scooter was already launched in the country on August 15, 2021, and is currently in mass production. 

Simple One electric scooter is noticed on the roads by BikeDekho and is said to be on testing round for range, performance, and durability. The scooter has been camouflaged and is expected to bear some design changes in the final version. The Simple One is aimed to compete with the Ola S1 and S1 Pro in India.

Simple One electric scooter features

Starting off with the range, the Simple One is claimed to offer a total distance of 236 km in a single charge. The electric scooter can gain a speed of 0-40 km/h in 2.95 seconds and a top speed of 105 km/h in ideal driving conditions. The scooter packs a 4.5kW motor and a 4.8kWh battery to produce up to 72Nm of torque.

The battery pack in the Simple One e-scooter includes a hybrid combination of a fixed battery and a removable battery. The swappable battery has a weight of 7kg offering a range of around 60km. The Bengaluru-based EV maker offers to charge the fixed battery to 80% in 2.75 hours while the removable battery will take 75 minutes to reach the same level.

The scooter sports a large touchscreen display to work as a speedometer and for infotainment purposes. It can be connected to a smartphone for smart feature services like receiving phone calls, navigation, music control, remote access, remote locking, geo-fencing, etc.

Simple One electric scooter Price and Availability

The Simple One electric scooter is priced at Rs 1,09,000 (ex-showroom) and currently, the company is receiving pre-orders at a refundable amount of Rs 1,947. The scooter will ship in four colour variants – Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, and Grace White. While there is no official notification for the delivery date of the scooter, yet it is expected to hit sometime in 2022.
