Samsung is all set to launch the Galaxy S23 Series during an Unpacked Event on the 1st of February and the series will have 3 smartphones- Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23+, and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Ever since the launch date has been confirmed, there has been excitement around the series, especially about what Samsung will bring to the table with the top model- Galaxy S23 Ultra this time. In this article, we have listed some reasons why one should be excited about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone-

1. Updated Rear Camera Setup

The camera setup is one of the most important selling points for the brand this year. Ever since the launch date has been confirmed, Samsung has been hinting about an even better camera setup for the Galaxy S23 Series via all its teasers and posters. The Ultra model will get the biggest camera upgrade as it will feature a 200MP main camera lens this time. After 3 years of featuring a 108MP main camera, this is a huge jump for sure. The phone will have the new ISOCELL HP2 sensor that can capture 12MP, 50MP, and 200MP photos.

The quad camera setup will also have a 12MP wide-angle camera, and two 3x and 10x telephoto sensors. There will be better Night photography with modes like the Astrophotography model and a new Moon mode and the zoom capabilities of the cameras are also set to get an upgrade. This entire revamped rear camera setup makes for one solid reason to look forward to the S23 Ultra.

2. New Selfie Lens

Not only is the main rear camera lens getting updated, but also the single selfie camera at the front is becoming better. The 40MP camera on the Galaxy S22 Ultra is being changed to a 12MP lens for the Galaxy S23 Ultra. It is a smaller sensor that is meant to improve the selfie experience.

3. Faster and more powerful Chipset

While earlier, the Galaxy S22 Series smartphones were launched with Snapdragon as well as Exynos chipsets, this time, Samsung will ship the Galaxy S23 Ultra with only the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Moreover, this Snapdragon chipset has been explicitly made for the S Series smartphones, meaning that the Snapdragon 8 gen 2 chipset used on Galaxy S23 will be different than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset used on other devices.

This variant of the chipset has been overclocked for Galaxy S23 Ultra. It consists of 3 power efficient A510 cores operating at up to 2.0GHz, two mid-A715 cores operating at 2.8GHz, two A710 cores at 2.8GHz, and one high-power X3 core operating at up to 3.6GHz. This latest chipset will make the device faster and more powerful.

4. Better Display

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will sport the latest E6 OLED display panel. The size will be 6.8 inches and it will be a Dynamic AMOLED panel just like last year, but an updated one. It will have a 1440p resolution, LTPO technology, and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The brightness will be 1750 nits.

5. New Colors & refined design

The Samsung Galaxy S23 resembles its predecessor Galaxy S22 Ultra a lot as it has the same 6.8-inch display, similar design language, crisp edges, integrated S-Pen, and even the same camera design. It will also have an IP68 rating, glass on the front, and an aluminum frame in the middle.

However, this doesn’t mean that there will be no changes. The sides of the Galaxy S23 Ultra are flatter which gives it an iPhone-like look and it will be easier to hold. The camera lenses are slightly bigger, and so are the power and volume buttons. The power and volume buttons have been lowered for better reach. The color variants have been refreshed as well because it retains Phantom Black from the previous generation and comes in 3 new hues Cotton Flower, Botanic Green, and Mystic Lilac.

6. Better Battery life

Although the Galaxy S23 Ultra will have the same 5000mAh battery but the battery life will see a boost due to the advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The chipset will make sure that the battery lasts longer and drains slower.

7. Boosted Audio Performance & more

The Speaker sound quality of the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been improved. It has better bass and more depth. The device has an excellent microphone and also comes with a good anti-shake problem. Moreover, the Galaxy S23 Ultra will also have real-time ray tracing as well.
