Samsung Galaxy A80’s India arrival has been on the cards since the phone’s global debut in April this year, and the Samsung phone with famed swivel triple-camera has now been introduced in India for an exorbitant price.

Samsung Galaxy A80 Features

So, what makes the Galaxy A80 expensive? Well, there are quite a few interesting things here.

For starters, Samsung offers a true 6.7-inch full-screen AMOLED display sans any notch or any sort of cut out. To do so, it places the triple rear cameras on a slider and adds a swivel mechanism. The plus point is that you get a versatile selfie camera system with the 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor in the lead.

But then again, Asus accomplishes about the same goal with a relatively simpler flip camera.

The Galaxy A80 is currently the only phone to employ Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 730G. This is almost similar to the Snapdragon 730 that Xiaomi passes on for half the price, save for a more powerful GPU and integrated support for Snapdragon Elite Gaming suite. In India, Samsung will retail a single variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage.

Other features 3500mAh battery with 25W fast charging support, a reversible USB Type-C port, One UI software, ToF camera for depth mapping, and Samsung Pay.

The price is Rs. 47,990 and as an introductory offer, Samsung offers one-time screen replacement and 5% cash back on purchases made using Citibank cards. Prebooking starts on July 22.
