For the first time in years, Samsung chose Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for the Galaxy S23 series instead of the high-end Exynos CPU. That does not, however, imply that Samsung is not developing one. That is, at least, what the rumors claim.

Famous tipper Ice Universe claims that Samsung is working on the Exynos 2400, a brand-new high-end chipset. The tipper revealed the claimed chipset’s specifications, which indicated that it might contain a 10-core CPU instead of the Exynos 2200’s 8-cores.
A 10-core CPU with 1x Cortex-X4, 2x high-frequency Cortex-A720, 3x low-frequency Cortex-A720, and 4x Cortex-520 is said to be included in the Exynos 2400.

Samsung Exynos

About the rumored forthcoming Exynos 2400, that is all we know. The processor’s release date and the smartphones it will power are unknown.
The Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S22 were powered by the Exynos 2100 and Exynos 2200, the last two high-end Exynos chipsets. However, Samsung is unlikely to employ the Exynos 2400 for the Galaxy S24, given that the following model in the Galaxy S series is expected to feature Qualcomm chipsets.

Even if the Galaxy S24 series is powered by the Exynos 2400, it might only be made accessible in a few locations, similar to how the Galaxy S22 series, which was powered by the Exynos 2200, was only offered in Europe. Other territories will receive the Snapdragon-powered model in the interim.
According to a Korean publication, there have been rumors that Samsung is leaving the Exynos platform, but the company has disputed the words. However, it has delayed the development of a new high-end chipset, which may now appear in late 2023 or 2024.

With Qualcomm, Samsung developed a faster Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip for the Galaxy S23 series. Compared to the standard Snapdragon 8 Gen 2’s clock speed of 3.32GHz, the “Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy” operates at a higher frequency of 3.6GHz.
Numerous rumors claim that Samsung is developing a high-end proprietary chipset with a staff of over 1000 people.
