After completing the delivery of 6 million units of JioPhone, Reliance Telecommunication has resumed the pre-booking window of its 4G phone. According to a national daily, The Economic Times, Reliance has started sending messages to customers with a link attached to buy the advanced 4G VoLTE feature phone.

However, the news should be taken with a pinch of salt as the second phase of pre-booking won’t be for everyone. The company will be sending the invite via SMS to only those buyers who had registered their interest in the handset in July. This means that only about 10 million people will be able to buy the JioPhone.

“A link will be sent to people who are again showing interest to make payment of Rs. 500 on the authorized channel. Once they make [the] payment, they will be informed about the date when Jio Phone will be delivered to them,” a Reliance Jio channel partner said.

As reported on our last article of JioPhone, users may have to purchase the handset under the new set guidelines, whereby a user has to do a top-up of an exact amount on their Jio number to claim the JioPhone’s 100% refund policy.
