Continuing with its disruption spree, the nascent Telecommunication giant Reliance Jio could also soon enter DTH space and directly stream content to your idiot box. This is evident from a fresh set of leaked images of the upcoming Jio set-top box that recently surfaced online.

As you can see in the image above, the circular set top comes with a USB port, an HDMI port, S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Interface Format) port, and also has an Ethernet port that could be used to connect with Jio Fiber. The Remote control has a microphone, which implies that the set-up can accept voice commands.

According to the source, Reliance Jio could officially roll out it’s DTH services as early as March – April 2017, which is also when the company is expected to make Jio broadband official in major Indian cities.

Reliance Jio is indeed taking the digital entertainment realms by storm and perhaps Indian consumers shall finally get their due. Streaming services and Internet speeds are ages behind when compared to other western nations and all this burgeoning competition should, at the end of the day, benefit Indian consumers.
