Realme has launched its “premium flagship killer” handset, the GT 6. Featuring unique design, premium texture, and top-tier specifications, the smartphone will be available to pre-order in India starting today. Powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, the handset is designed to deliver flagship-tier performance at a relatively affordable price. Without any further ado, let’s start with the Realme GT 6’s design, specifications, and, more importantly, its price.

Realme GT 6 Design

Realme GT 6 launched in India

The company mentioned in the launch event that the phone is designed to look and feel like a EUR 1000 smartphone. But is it true? In terms of design, the GT 6 follows a rather minimal approach, with a dual-textured back panel and classy color.

On the rear panel, users get a triple camera setup (with an alignment similar to that of the Pro iPhones). The edge-to-edge display on the front, with minimal bezels and a punch-hole cutout, gives the phone a contemporary look. While the power and the volume buttons are located on the right side

Realme GT 6 Specifications And Features

Screen

Realme GT 6 screen

The Realme GT 6 features the world’s brightest smartphone display (6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate), which reaches a peak brightness of 6000 nits. While the manual brightness mode is still locked at 1,000 nits, the local peak brightness can reach the record number. The screen also supports three HDR modes optimized for when users are playing games or watching HDR content.

Performance

Realme GT 6 processor

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor, which is based on the same 4nm fabrication technology as the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. The processor has one prime core clocked at 3.0GHz, four balanced cores clocked at 2.8GHz, and three efficiency cores clocked at 2.0GHz. Along with the powerful chipset, the smartphone sports up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.

With a potent neural processing engine, the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 is also capable of running Realme AI, which has various GenAI features. For instance, there’s the AI Smart Remove tool, which helps users remove unwanted objects from the background. Further, there are other AI-based features like AI Smart Loop for productivity and AI Night Vision Mode for the camera.

It is worth mentioning that the GT 6 is the company’s first smartphone to support video games like PUBG and Call of Duty: Mobile at 120 frames per second (with the Adreno 735 GPU), which is an incredible incentive for mobile gamers. To ensure that the motherboard doesn’t reach dangerously high temperatures while gaming, the device features a three-dimensional cooling chamber.

Interestingly, the smartphone comes with what the company calls Air Gestures, wherein users can control and navigate through the operating system by hovering their hand over the handset in a certain way.

Regarding optics, the Realme GT 6 features a triple-rear camera system, headlined with a 50MP Sony LYT-808 (f/1.7, OIS) primary sensor. Besides, there’s a 50MP (f/2.0) 2x telephoto sensor and an 8MP (f/2.2, 112-degree) ultrawide sensor. On the front, users get a 32MP (f/2.5) selfie shooter. While the rear cameras can record 4K videos at 60 frames per second, the front camera is limited to 30 frames per second.

At the launch event, Realme made a big deal of the AI Night Vision mode, claiming that it can see in pitch darkness (where other smartphones can’t record anything). It also features an iOS-like background separation feature, which picks up subjects from pictures. The smartphone also leverages the suite of AI features provided by Google Photos.

Battery

Realme GT 6 battery

The Realme GT 6 features a massive 5,500 mAh battery, which, in theory, is larger than the 4,700 mAh battery on the Xiaomi 14 Civi (which also features the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC). Realme also claims the phone will retain at least 80 percent of its battery health even after 1,600 charge cycles. When it comes to charging, the device supports 120W wired charging, which can reach up to 50 percent of charging in about 10 minutes.

Software Updates

The Realme GT 6 will get Android updates and security patches for four years.
