We were waiting for the date and here it is – February 04, 2020. Poco confirms the imminent launch via its official Twitter handle. Soon after the tweet, Poco also rolled out official media invites for the Poco X2 launch.

The official Poco X2 page also reveals a few details, including a picture that depicts a dual-camera arrangement (probably of Poco F1) and a capacitive fingerprint reader on the rear. The official page also confirms Sony IMX686 sensor and a high refresh rate screen.

It’s all but confirmed that the Poco X2 is just the rebranded Redmi K30 4G that earlier launched in China.

True to its stimulant genes, the brand’s tweet touts the phone as Smooth AF“. The tweet shares a link, upon clicking which, you’ll be directed to the website, which shows up like this –

Poco is poking some fun there! Nevertheless, we opened the site from our handset and we got this –

Weirdly enough, the device we opened this page was a Realme X2 Pro (running at 90Hz display refresh rate). Huh!

Anyhoo, you may look forward to a refresh rate better than 60Hz. Now, it could be the trendy 90Hz or 120Hz panels. Since we are in 2020, it shouldn’t come as a surprise feature.

Poco Boss confirms the new phone launch next month; likely to be called Poco X2

Jan 24, 2020, 4:09 PM

Poco India officially affirms the new phone launch in the coming month. The post asks the users to stay heed of unofficial leaks. In lieu, it shares the official statement from the company G.M. Mr. Manmohan Chandolu. It reads, “We will launch our new phone next month.”

Poco also continues its ‘Everything You Need, Nothing You Don’t’ ideology. So, with that let’s see what the so-called S02 holds for its fans.

Poco X2 easter egg unearthed from the official teaser

Just like the first phone hit popularity out of nowhere, Poco’s latest tweet has put the brand back in limelight. But, amidst the frantic teaser and the following hype, it’s highly unlikely that most would’ve spotted the easter egg. The name Poco X2 was plain as a pikestaff in the initial frames of the teaser. Here have a look.

Could you spot it? No worries! You may find it in this snapshot from that video. Both the brand name (left) and the X2 handle (right) is positioned vertically.

This was uncovered by a well-known leakster Xiaomishka through a twitter post.

In light of the new findings, we have more confidence in the Poco X2 moniker. But, that leaves us wondering, if this will be a successor to the original Poco F1. We speculate that the brand might opt for a new name scheme. After all, the Poco F2 has been making news headlines for more than a year. As such, it might enjoy less visibility than something fresh.

Another guess is that Poco might choose to bring out two lineups. Poco F2 succeeding Poco F1 as a midrange ticket and X2 might start a higher trim series. Or, the other way round is also plausible. But, all these are merely hypothesis for the moment.

Our sources tell us that the Poco X2 is likely to ship with Snapdragon 855+, 8GB of RAM and 64-megapixel camera. We expect more hints, rumors, and leaks before the official launch.

Poco F2 Lite Live Images Leak along with Major Specs and Price Tip

Jan 20, 2020, 5:30 PM

Poco recently broke out of the Xiaomi chain of control and became a standalone company. In the days leading to the same, we had a buzz about the Poco F1 successor. We were in a bind on what would it be christened as and how many variants would we get. Well, a recent leak raises our confidence in the Poco F2 moniker. The surfaced image is of Poco F2 Lite.

An Indian YouTube channel RevAtlas claims to have received an email enclosing the alleged photos of Poco F2 Lite. Not just that, the unidentified source also tipped the purported specs of F2 Lite.

The blurred snaps reveal the “About Phone” section of the phone as well as the MIUI 11 homescreen. As for the specs, the tip suggests Snapdragon 765 SoC coupled with 6GB of RAM, a 5000mAh battery and a “high resolution very high” camera. The chassis kinda looks like Note 7 Pro doppelganger.

Finally, it also hints at a price cheaper than before. Now, whether that ‘before’ means Poco F1 isn’t certain. But if it’s, you may expect the so-called Poco F2 Lite to carry a price tag around Rs. 21k, which was the starting price of Pocophone F1.

Anyway, it’s advised to take these details with little discretion until stronger evidence pops up.

Poco now an Independent Brand; Imminent Arrival of Poco F2 Confirmed

January 17, 2020, 3:50 PM

With Pocophone 1, Xiaomi saw unprecedented success and even a year and a half later, its cult follows. While contrary to expectations, we didn’t get any successor the following year. Well, it long forever for sure, but we finally have some good news for the Poco fans out there.

Xiaomi has released Poco from its umbrella, making it a separate entity. This and few other reports out there cements the imminent launch of Poco F2 or Poco X2 or whatever it’s going to be called.

Poco – Long Time No See!

But, the company has kept everything else from the launch date to the phone’s anatomy close to the chest. But, we have managed to scour a fair bit of details about the phone. Let’s take a look.

Poco F2 aka Poco X2 rumors and expectations

A recent trademark filing is alleged to be of Poco F2.

The leakster sheds light on the December 4 filing date. He states Xiaomi had registered a similar trademark around two months prior to Poco F1’s debut. Thus, its inferred that Poco F2 to be unveiled next month.

Then there is this Geekbench listing of a device named Poco X2.

First things first, there is no clarity whether this is Poco F2’s code name or a different device altogether or the actual name Poco F1’s sequel takes on.

Nonetheless, the listing tells us that the “Poco X2” will come with Android 10 (based MIUI 11 probably), an octa-core Qualcomm chip (Snapdragon 855+ or 865, fingers crossed) clocked at 1.8Ghz speed, and 8gigs of RAM.

Now, all this could very well be a work of fiction. So, take ’em with a grain of salt, eh!

So, one thing is certain that Poco F1’s successor is on its way and it won’t be too long before its debut. So, like Mr. Manu, we also wish the Poco team the best!

In other news, Xiaomi has also hinted at making Redmi as a standalone brand in India, just like it did in China last year. A recent tweet from the official Redmi India handles hints the same.
