Sony held its PlayStation Showcase event yesterday to reveal all it has in store for 2023. The event which took place after 600 days lasted more than an hour and saw a long line-up of announcements being made. These include a catalog of upcoming games and some new hardware devices like Project Q, PlayStation wireless buds, and more.

1. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 Game
One of the most anticipated titles, the Marvel Spider-Man 2 Game was shown off at the end of the event. The promo opened with a dense jungle trip and an introduction to Kraven the Hunter, who will serve as one of the primary antagonists of the game along with Venom. Spider-Man will have access to Venom Suit as the trailer confirmed that Peter has been infected and will have many high-powered moves at his disposal. Gamers will able to switch to Miles Morales, with both Spider-Men taking turns saving the city. Miles will have gliding ability and be able to use remote electrical abilities to throw back enemies. The lizard will also appear in the game.
The game will come in the Autumn of 2023.
2. Destiny: The Final Shape
The next chapter of the game Destiny was shown off via conversation between heroes. More will be revealed on 22 August 2023.
3. Concord
A trailer was displayed for this mystery game that seems to be a sci-fi adventure, but other than this not too much was revealed.
4. Gran Turismo Movie
The trailer for the movie adaptation of Gran Turismo was also revealed.
5. Marathon
Bungie’s Marathon is coming to PlayStation 5 soon. It will be a sci-fi adventure game where one will play as an armored soldier trying to escape their fate in a surreal neon world and is a callback to one of the 1st games Bungie’s ever made.
6. Resident Evil 4

7. Arizona Sunshine 2
This game will see gamers as wise-cracking heroes dispatching zombies in a desert town. It will come to PlayStation VR2 in 2023.
8. Crossfire: Sierra Squad
Coming to PSVR2 in 2023, it is a VR Shooter game where you will travel through a post-apocalyptic overgrown world fighting enemies.
9. Synapse
It is a gun-focused VR game where the gamer will be an agent fighting through big tech buildings and strange landscapes, utilizing powerful magic abilities to defeat enemies. It will come to PSVR2 on 4 July 2023.
10. Beat Saber
This loved title is now available on PlayStation VR2.
11. Dragon’s Dogma 2
Dragon’s Dogma 2 got a major gameplay trailer release. It is a drama set in a medieval town and there are plenty of dragons involved.
12. Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted 2
The trailer confirmed this one will come in Late 2023.
13. Tower of Fantasy
The anime-style adventure game Tower of Fantasy will come to PS5 soon. It is set in a fantasy world where mechs and giant beasts intermingle.
14. Ultros
The trailer for the beautiful-looking stained glass-style game Ultros was also revealed. It will be a side-scrolling adventure where gamers will be warriors taking on a vast array of strange creatures in a fantasy world. There’s still time for it as it will launch in 2024.
15. Revenant Hill
A prequel for A Night in the Woods- Revenant Hill was also announced. This one seems to be an adventure utilizing a similar art style and takes place in a gorgeous autumn-shaded world. It has a cartoonish cat version of Night in the Woods protagonist Mae. It will come to PlayStation 5 in the future.
16. Granblue Fantasy Relink
The trailer confirmed that it is coming in Winter 2023.
17. Street Fighter 6
A new story-based trailer confirmed that the game will launch on 2 June 2023.
18. Assassin’s Creed
A new trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Mirage was also revealed. It featured Shohreh Aghdashloo who will give his voice and act as a mentor character. The assassin Basim who was seen in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will take center stage in the adventure, traveling through a gorgeous Middle East Setting. The game will launch on 12 October 2023.
19. Alan Wake 2
Alan Wake 2 got its first gameplay trailer which claims it’s a sweeping story. From the trailer it feels like FBI agents are hunting Alan Wake and one of them is played by Remedy’s Sam Lake. It will be gruesome horror with jump scares and darkness. It is coming out on 17 October 2023.
20. Metal Gear Solid 3
Giant Ant introduced the official reveal of the Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake. It will come to PS5 in the future and the first 3 Metal Gear Solid games will also come to PS5 in Autumn 2023. It will be a classic collection.
21. Towers of Aghasba
The trailer for this adventure game starring giant beasts and gorgeous sights like floating sky whales was also made official.
22. Final Fantasy XVI
The trailer for this one featured plenty of high-stakes drama, beastly magic, and English accents. The game launches for PlayStation 5 on 22 June 2023.
23. Teardown
Lego like an action game filled with destruction also got its trailer. In Teardown gamers will have to drive cars, explode brick worlds, smash into houses, throw hammers, and demolish everything that comes in their path. The game is already available on PC but it will come to PlayStation 5 in 2023.
24. Foamstars
Square Enix has announced a new game called Foamstars. The game begins on the moody streets of a neon city and had teams of rival players going up against each other in fun gun-based combat. The guns used were bubble guns. The game will be a competitive bubble shooter in the realm of Splatoon and other lighthearted multiplayer battle games.
25. The Plucky Squire
The trailer for this cutesy adventure game from All Possible Futures and Devolver Digital in 2023.
26. Cat Quest: Pirates of the Purribean
The next Cat Quest adventure game looks super cute and will go official in 2024.
27. Neva
Neva is an adventure game having a giant white wolf and a keen-eyed woman with a sword. The woman will face multiple challenges on her path to living a peaceful life, including great hordes of shadow monsters. The trailer is colorful with drama and the game will come to PlayStation 5 in 2024.
28. The Talos Principle 2
The trailer for Talos Principle 2 had a humanoid robot that might be a post-apocalyptic sci-fi puzzle game that will explore the mysteries of the universe and what it really means to live in a world full of artificial consciousness. It will come to PlayStation 5 in 2023.
29. Sword of the Sea
The upcoming game for Giant Squid is the sword surfing adventure game in which you will journey through a colorful kingdom filled with sand and seas. It will come to PS5 in the future.
30. Phantom Blade O
The dramatic trailer for the Samurai adventure game opens up with a voiceover lamenting the protagonist’s short days left to live. It has flashy and gorgeous costumes, strange beasts, terrifying horsemen, and snappy sword combat. It will come to PS5 in the future.
31. Ghostrunner
Ghostrunner is getting a sequel as Ghostrunner 2 was also announced. The sequel will come with flashier combat and drama and will be out in 2023.
32. Immortals of Aevum
The Immortals of Aevum has got a new look. The FPS gameplay is combined with magic and sorcery and looks good on screen. The game’s story will be about a buddy adventure through wild space. It will be available on 20 July 2023.
33. Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 is the sequel from the Arrowhead Game Studios where the gamer will play an intergalactic troupe of warriors in charge of defeating alien lifeforms and saving the galaxy. It will come to PS5 and PC in 2023.
34. Fairgames
Haven’s upcoming title Fairgames will be a heist game where players target the rich and famous in squads. The game will launch soon and will be available on PS5 and PC.
Hardware Announcements
1. Project Q
Project Q is Sony’s latest advancement to allow users to play their PS5 games over WiFi. It is a handheld device that carries an 8-inch HD screen and all of the buttons and features that are already incorporated into Sony’s DualSense wireless controller. It just needs a strong WiFi connection to stream the games smoothly.
2. Sony Wireless Earbuds
These earbuds can connect to PS5 or PC and look highly inspired by the PlayStation using a new wireless technology that will allow earbuds to deliver lossless audio with low latency. The earbuds have physical volume buttons and are shown off in black and white shades. The buds are expected to come with ANC and a case has a sliding design that matches DualSense controllers.
