Panasonic today launched its Toughbook CF-33 rugged 2-in-1 Notebook in India. The Toughbook can stand some abuse and comes with a 12-inch QHD resolution display with unconventional 3:2 aspect ratio and was first introduced globally at MWC 2017 at the start of this year.

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 Specifications and features

You can, of course, detach the display and use it as a tablet. The high-resolution touch display can be operated while wearing gloves and is 1200 Nits bright that makes it suitable for outdoor usage.

The CF-33 is IP65 certified for dust and water resistance and weighs 2.76Kgs in total. The tablet half of Panasonic CF-33 has USB 3.0, HDMI, Ethernet, microSD-XC and audio ports and the keyboard dock (backlit) further adds enterprise ports including 2x USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 port along with serial and VGA ports. All connectivity ports are covered with flaps for water resistance. Panasonic has also bundled an IP55 digitizer pen that can be used for writing, taking notes, and for signatures.

On the inside, the CF-33 is powered by Intel Core i5-7300U vPro processor paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB of SSD storage. There is an 8MP camera on the rear and a 2MP front camera for video calling. The CF-33 can last for up to 20 hours (with extended batteries) and is running Windows 10 Pro OS. Other features include Barcode Reader, Smartcard Reader, Contactless Smart Card Reader and Fingerprint Reader.

Who is Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 For?

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 is perhaps the toughest 2-in-1 in the market as of today. The new Toughbook is meant for professionals who need to operate in extreme conditions and have to worry about more than just accidental spillage. So, if you are a home user and are buying it as an assurance against your clumsiness, it might very well prove to be an overkill.

Panasonic says that the device is ideal for industries including police, emergency services, government agencies, defense, field service workers, maintenance and service technicians in the utilities and telecommunications.

“Users today are looking to do more with rugged devices than ever before. With the evolving needs of enterprise and government sectors, we are transforming with times to offer best computing solutions for our customers. Old bulky laptops present safety concerns, portability issues and are not very resilient to damage. We at Panasonic are constantly looking to offer products that not only improve the efficiency, but enhance productivity and bottom-line performances for a number of years,” said Mr. Vijay Wadhwan, Business Head System and Solution Business, Panasonic India

Panasonic Toughbook CF-33 Price and Availability
