Oppo Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro 5G launching on July 14 via Flipkart with this “industry-leading” camera feature

Oppo is set to launch two new phones in India namely Reno 6 and Reno 6 Pro 5G. They will be sold via Flipkart which we know from their dedicated microsite on the e-commerce platform. This page also reveals a centerpiece feature of the Reno 6 series — the Bokeh Flare Portrait Video.

Over the years, we have seen Oppo come up with various new camera features. In the recent Oppo phones, there are neat filters called Dynamic Bokeh and Neon Portrait. And with its 2021 Reno phones, the company seems to be focusing on videography. Although, the name itself is indicant of what it could entail, here’s a quick look at how the Bokeh Flare Portrait Video works:

So you will be able to keep the subject in focus with the background in bokeh. This would be abetted by video stabilization and video beautification features. Besides, you could also expect AI Highlight Video, Ultra Night Video, Live HDR, Focus Tracking, Colour Temperature sensor, Full Dimension Fusion (FDF) Portrait Video System, AI Palette, and the earlier mentioned still photo filters too. Also, we should be getting some teasers about this and other highlights of the Reno 6 phones in the days leading to launch.

From the images shared on the microsite, we learn how one of the phones looks from the back. It’s likely the Reno 6 Pro 5G and it has got a blueish gradient color. Needless to say, there must be other colors too. We also see the 64MP Quad AI Camera setup sitting on a rectangle island to the top left corner.

This is also what the Chinese variant of these phones sport. So, if it’s the same phones, then you could expect MediaTek Dimensity 900 5G on the vanilla Reno 6 and Dimensity 1200 on the Pro model. Other things in the mix could be 90Hz AMOLED panels, Android 11 based ColorOS 11.3, and high-speed 65W charging.

Oppo has confirmed the charging speed and that the MediaTek 5G SoC with RAM expansion on Reno 6 Pro 5G.

In its home market, OPPO Reno 6 starts at a price of CNY 2,799 (~ Rs. 31,800), and the Reno 6 Pro 5G at CNY 3,499 (~Rs. 39,800). Now, it’s only a matter of time when we get the Indian price, specs, and availability details of the Reno 6 series. So, set reminders for the launch of Reno 6 series on July 14.
