OPPO Enco W11 Review

We finally have a torrent of budget TWS earphones in India. This is partly thanks to the influx of smartphone brands in the audio space. While that’s good and all, these many options can get quite puzzling. And one may very well be curious about the quality of chintzy-priced buds like the one whose review we are about to read — the OPPO Enco W11.

This one is the toned-down model of the OPPO Enco W31 and as such, let’s kick off with a comparison between the two:

Let’s now get into the actual review part, starting with the —

OPPO Enco W11 Design

Enco W11 buds come in an oval-shaped and glossy white case that doubles as their charger. It has an LED indicator to the front, a USB-C port by the back, OPPO branding on top, and some more fine details and labels by the base.

It might be a trivial thing but the case can’t be easily opened with one hand. Anyway, once you flip the lid, you’ll see the buds resting tight inside. They won’t fall that easily, which must be assuring while out and about. Still and all, I wish they had included extra pairs of silicon tips as it would’ve let the user find a better seal for their ears.

If you have read my earlier TWS reviews, you would know how much I appreciate in-ear design over anything else. Gladly, OPPO’s design is right up my alley. It is tiny, lite, unassuming, and stays comfortably in my ear trenches.

The touch controls are easy to grasp and gesture. One last thing to note in the design department is the presence of IP55 certification, which warrants resistance against dust and water. That’s simply awesome to have at this price!

So far good, let’s see how it is in …

OPPO Enco W11 Connectivity and Battery

Pairing, setup process, and subsequent connections are simple and convenient. The W11 didn’t trouble me with any connection drops within the ambit of my house. Also, I didn’t face any latency issues.

The battery life is as advertised. OPPO lists the buds as lasting for about 5 hours on a single charge. This is further assisted by the juice from the case, totaling up to 20 hours. Herein, the fact that it has a USB-C port is much appreciated. It takes about 2 hours to fully charge the case w/ the buds.

Moving to the meat of the matter —

OPPO Enco W11 Audio

OPPO Enco W11 supports AAC codec for high-quality audio

Specs-wise, Enco W11 entails an 8mm dynamic driver unit; claims to cover 20Hz to 20KHz frequency, and prides enhanced bass output.

The audio experience more or less attests to the claims, which is to say, I like what I hear here. The sound is certainly insightful compared to the Buds Air Neo (review), which I had reviewed earlier.

The bass is pronounced and at the same time, one can hear the instruments and vocals in the rest of the spectrum. A bit of tuning using any decent equalizer will bring out a bit more details to the fore for sure.

As for calls, the quality is not up to snuff. It was weak and I was better off without the buds. I know most of them aren’t that good at this price point. Still, it’s something to keep in mind.

Speaking of which, it’s time to revise and recap.

OPPO Enco W11 Review: Verdict

Regardless of the price we pay, we all have certain reasonable expectations from true wireless earphones. So, essentially, they should sound fine, the battery should last long enough, and there shouldn’t be any noticeable latency issues. And the OPPO Enco W11 does stick to the basics over bonus features formula.

For the asking price of ₹2,499, I am dumbfounded by how they sound. Further, they hold up enough juice for the music on the move and the latency response is fine too. Moreover, there are several niceties like IP55 ingress protection and the USB-C port, which makes the W11 all the more appealing.

The only thing that really bothered me is the call quality. Besides that, the rest of the pet peeves won’t be in any way detrimental to the purchase decision.

So, if you’d ask me whether you should buy the Enco W11, I would say go ahead as the positives weigh more than the negatives.

Pros

  • Sleek design
  • USB-C port
  • IP55 dust and water resistance
  • Ample battery life
  • Convenient controls

Cons

  • Average call quality

  1. Hey there, Comprehensive review of W11, though what are the major differences between W11 and W31?; Is it worth shelling out extra bucks for W31?; Somehow I’m unable to find out any quantifiable difference between the two. Expecting a prompt response, Thanks in advance!

    • Hi Mariya, The newer Enco W11 TWS seems to be the better pick than the pricier W31. W11 is lighter, upgraded 8mm drivers (bigger than W31’s 7mm unit), longer battery life (as mentioned in the specs table in the beginning), and IP55 water/dust resistance rating (compared to W31’s slightly inferior IP54 certification). Now, like you, we are also perplexed by OPPO’s decision to launch a mostly better-specced product at a lesser price.
