Oppo A1 5G enters the Chinese market with Snapdragon 695 SoC, 12GB RAM and more

Oppo has rolled out a new affordable smartphone, Oppo A1 5G, in the Chinese market. The device supports a 5G network and has a decent design considering the price it is available for. The smartphone has an oval-shaped camera island at the rear panel consisting of two circular cutouts for the placement of sensors and a flash. On the front, the device has a punch-hole cutout at the top middle for the placement of the front camera. It has thin bezels all around with a thicker chin.

The Oppo A1 5G’s 12GB RAM variant with 256GB internal storage is available in the Chinese market at a price of CNY 1,999, which converts to Rs 23,840. The pricing 8GB RAM variant of the smartphone with 256GB internal storage is still under wraps. The handset is being shipped in three different colours – Sandstone Black, Ocean Blue, and Caberia Orange. The sale of smartphones has already started in China.

Oppo A1 5G specifications and features

The Oppo A1 comes with a 6.72-inch FHD+ display complemented with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. The device has 680 nits of peak brightness which enables comfortable viewing. The smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 processor paired with 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 3.2 in the high-end storage variant. The storage of the handset can be expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card. It will operate on the ColorOS 13 based on the Android 13 operating system.

In terms of optics, the Oppo A1 flaunts a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP mono portrait shooter. For the sake of selfies and video calls, the device rocks an 8MP camera at the front. To offer a long lasting performance, the handset is powered by a 5000mAh battery along with 67W fast charging support. For the purpose of security, it also gets a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
