While there’s no fixed date for the Android 14 launch, Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has confirmed an Android 14-based OxygenOS upgrade for users. The OTA software update will ship to OnePlus users later this month. If the company successfully rolls the update, it will become the first to do so. However, if Google delays Android 14, there’s a good chance that OnePlus will have no option but to postpone.
OnePlus Users To Get Android 14 on September 25
In a community post, OnePlus promised to ship the Android 14-based OxygenOS upgrade in less than a month, i.e., on September 25, 2023. Although we still don’t know which devices will receive the update, there’s a good chance that the OnePlus 11, OnePlus 10, the OnePlus 8T, and the OnePlus Nord 3 series will make the cut. However, since this is a speculation, readers should take this with a pinch of salt and wait for further information.
Trinity Engine On OxygenOS 14
Meanwhile, the upcoming software update from OnePlus will feature a performance platform called Trinity Engine. Like the performance management suite on certain phones, Trinity Engine will enable users to monitor and control CPU Vitalization, ROM Vitalization, and RAM Vitalization, along with HyperBoost, HyperTouch, and HyperRendering. Combined, these features will help OnePlus phones become more power efficient, better at multi-tasking, and provide a smoother experience.
OxygenOS 14 Should Be Available To OnePlus 11 First
It’s often the latest smartphone with the most processing power, which receives a new Android update. In this case, OnePlus 11 seems to be the first phone that will receive the stable Android 14 update. Further, the company is testing several upgrades for the OnePlus 11R and the OnePlus Nord 3, so there’s a good chance these models will also receive the OTA update. Apart from this, the company mentions that it will run an open beta program before sending out the Android 14 updates.
It is important to mention that Google still needs to finalize a launch date for Android 14. Some rumors suggest the new operating system could come out in October, but that won’t suit OnePlus.
