OnePlus Open Foldable Goes Official in India For Rs. 1,39,999

OnePlus has launched its first-ever foldable in India as well as globally. The on-ground event took place in Mumbai, India today wherein OnePlus has announced the OnePlus Open foldable smartphone. The OnePlus Open has been announced on the occasion of 10 year anniversary of OnePlus and the brand claims it is designed for the next chapter of ‘Never Settle’.

OnePlus Open is a light, compact, durable foldable with dual-hero displays, top-notch imaging, customized OS, and top-of-the-line specs, claims OnePlus.

OnePlus Open: Price & Availability

OnePlus Open comes in a single 16GB RAM+512GB storage model in India for Rs. 1,39,999. The device will be up for pre-order today and the open sale begins on October 27 via OnePlus.in, Amazon, the OnePlus app store, Reliance Digital, and select retail stores.

During the pre-order period, Indian users can get a Rs. 8000 trade-in bonus on select OnePlus devices, Interest-free EMIs for up to 12 months, Up to Rs. 5000 off with ICICI Bank cards, and enjoy up to Rs. 15,000 benefits with Jio Plus. The device will be delivered with a Google One subscription for 6 months, a YouTube premium subscription for 6 months, and a Microsoft 365 subscription for 3 months.

OnePlus Open: Design

OnePlus has made its first-ever foldable lightest and slimmest in the segment. OnePlus Open weighs 239 grams and its dimensions are 153.4×143.1×5.8mm. It is made of aerospace-grade materials that surpass surgical-grade stainless steel and offer a thin and light design.

OnePlus Open has an ultra-efficient Flexion hinge that has been subjected to no holds barred fold test with over 1,000,000 folds.

It comes in 2 elegant colors- Voyager Black and Emerald Dusk. The foldable has a matte mid-frame design, a premium camera design, and a matte frost or faux leather finish for the black variant.

OnePlus Open: Specs

OnePlus Open when folded has a 6.31-inch display while when unfolded has a 7.82-inch 2K Super XDR panel. These are 120Hz adaptive LTPO 3.0 panels with 10-bit color, SRGB, DCI-P3 color gamut, High-frequency PWM at 1440Hz and 2800 nits brightness. The cover screen is shielded by a ceramic guard, while the main display is shielded by ultra-thin glass. OnePlus Open comes with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos as well.

In terms of camera, OnePlus Open has a 48MP Sony LYT-T808 Pixel Stacked 1x-2x main camera along with a 64MP 3x-10x Telephoto sensor and a 48MP ultrawide large sensor at the back. The main camera and the telephoto lens come with Optical Image Stabilization.  

It runs OxygenOS based on Android 14 which comes with cross-referencing, learning by using notes, and sharing improvements. The Open Canvas includes a versatile taskbar that allows dragging and dropping recent files to share them. There is also Easy resizing, flow beyond split screens, smoother shopping, accelerating finance, easy double and triple splits, and more.

The OnePlus Open is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 along with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 ROM. The chipset supports ray tracing and 5G coverage with N28 and n71 5G bands. It packs a 4805mAh battery under the hood with 67W wired charging capability. WiFi 7 is also enabled on the OnePlus Open.

OnePlus has promised 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security patches with OnePlus Open along with a 48-month A-Rating with TUV SUD.

OnePlus has announced its partnership with BMW wherein the OnePlus Open will function as BMW Digital Car Key allowing you to lock and unlock the car or start the engine using the foldable.
