He also went on the record to reveal that their next flagship killer will be launched towards the end of the second quarter of 2018, putting the rumors of an early launch to rest.

At the sidelines of CES 2018, CNET quizzed him regarding OnePlus 5T(review) successor, he confirmed that Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset will definitely feature as they have no alternative. “Of course, there’s no other choice,” Lau said. There’s a good chance that OnePlus (6T) might break trend it established in last two years of launching two phones. “He wasn’t 100 percent sure if OnePlus would sell a second phone in 2018,” reports CNET.

When questioned about the face unlock on OnePlus 3 and 3T, he confirmed beta version will be rolled out soon.  “There’s no reason to withhold features we can easily implement,” Pei said.

When inquired about OnePlus’ view on the implementation of AI (artificial intelligence) in a smartphone, he said, “the only thing we can do now is to keep a humble approach.”
