Nothing Phone (1) makes global debut and we are already getting traditional OnePlus vibes

Carl Pei’s latest venture is back in the industry with its first smartphone, Nothing Phone (1). It is the second product by the young brand after the Nothing Ear 1 buds. The smartphone has a unique design, and the major highlight here is the naked back panel. It was launched globally via a live stream organised by the company.

Talking about the handset, Nothing’s offering could be a game-changer in the mid-range segment of the Indian smartphone market. In terms of processing capacity, the smartphone will have direct competition against Moto Edge 30, which was also launched in 2022.

Nothing Phone (1) pricing and availability in India

The Nothing Phone (1)’s 8GB RAM variant with 128GB internal storage will be available in the market at a price of Rs 32,999. On the other hand, the 12GB RAM variant of the smartphone along with 256GB internal storage can be purchased for Rs 38,999.

It also has a 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage variant priced at Rs 35,999. Under the introductory offer, all three variants will be available a a Rs 1000 discount.

The device will be shipped in the market in two colours – White and Black. Its first sale is scheduled to be held on July 21 starting at 7:00 PM IST via Flipkart. One thing which you have to keep in mind is that the charger of the device will be sold separately on Flipkart for Rs 2,499.

Nothing Phone (1) comes equipped with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display accompanied by a whopping 120Hz refresh rate. The device works on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ processor along with 12GB RAM in the high-end variant.

In terms of the operating system, the handset offers Nothing OS based on the Android 12 operating system. It will be a brand new experience for the audience all around the globe.

Nothing Phone (1) flaunts a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50MP primary snapper and a 50MP secondary snapper. In addition, it also gets a 16MP front shooter for capturing selfies and attending video calls.

The device draws power from a 4500mAh battery that can go on for a day even after extensive use. Moreover, it supports 33W fast charging that can take the battery from zero to 100% in less than an hour. As claimed by the company the smartphone will get charged up to 70% in just 30 minutes.
