Nokia Mobile India’s official X (formerly known as Twitter) account teased an upcoming 5G smartphone, mentioning that the announcement will take place on September 6, 2023. However, this is the extent of information on the new smartphone. Nokia hasn’t confirmed any other specifications. However, we’re expecting a budget smartphone with entry-level specifications.

Nokia G42 5G Specifications

Rumors suggest that the upcoming smartphone could be the Nokia G42 5G, which came out in the global market last month. Out of the box, the phone comes with a 6.65-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution. It also supports a 90Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 560 nits. The global variant of the phone also comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ SoC (8nm) with Adreno 619 GPU. The CPU is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Users also get a microSD card slot for expanding storage. Powering the phone is a 5,000 mAh removable battery that supports 20W fast wired charging.

Regarding cameras, the Nokia G42 5G features a triple-sensor setup, including a 50MP (f/1.8) primary sensor, one 2MP macro lens, and one 2MP depth sensor. On the front panel, the phone has an 8MP selfie shooter. With the rear cameras, users can shoot videos up to 1080p resolution at 30 fps.

For connectivity, the smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.1, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Last but not least, the Nokia G42 5G runs on Android 13. Interestingly, HDM Global has partnered with iFixit to provide spare parts for the phone for up to five years. Currently, iFixit doesn’t deliver to India, so the company might have to find an alternative.

Nokia G42 5G Price

As per the international price, the Nokia G42 5G could cost around Rs. 20,000 in India. However, the company has yet to confirm all these details, so readers must take them with a pinch of salt.
