Motorola, today announced its latest phone in Z series, Moto Z3, at a special event in Chicago. The phone has been translated as a successor to Moto’s Z3 Play, with similar features minus the rear camera setup and the employed chipset. Yet again, the smartphone can clip to Moto Z-series-exclusive Moto Mods. The smartphone is yet to be announced in India.
Moto Z3 Specifications
The new Moto Z3 is a waterproof handset and has its power button on the left edge. Notably, its fingerprint sensor is present on its right edge, which sets the device apart from the rest currently in the market. The Z3 runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with navigation button, much like the one Google added to its Android P beta software, though wider.
Moto Z3 comes installed with a Super AMOLED display panel, with 1080×2160 resolution, as well as 18:9 aspect ratio.
The Z3’s rear camera combo with the superior camera featuring a single color 12 MP, f/2.0 sensor, having 1.25um pixels and the other being a 12MP monochrome sensor. These cameras are assisted by dual-wash LED flashlight.

An 8 MP f/2.0 selfie shooter, with 1.12um pixel size, and an 84-degree FoV is present on the front panel of the phone.
Motorola’s new flagship features a chipset from last year, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC, paired with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage will be running the smartphone. Its 3,000 mAh battery capacity feels a bit underwhelming.
Once the 5G network will be introduced to markets, one will be able to buy a 5G enabled MotoMod that will add 5G connectivity to Moto Z3. It will feature Qualcomm’s X50 modem, as well as additional 2,000 mAh of supplementary power to run that advanced technology.
Moto Z3 Price
The only colour option in this mobile is Ceramic Black. Moto Z3 will be out for sale on August 16, via its exclusive retail partner Verizon, carrying a price tag of $480 (Rs. 32,932 approx). The device can also be bought for monthly installments of $20 (Rs. 1,372 approx), paid over a period of 24 months.
The price for the 5G MotoMod accessory will be announced by year-end.
