Moto G6 and G6 Play India Launch Imminent, Phones Teased By Lenovo

Lenovo-owned Motorola has hinted at the imminent launch of the next-gen Moto G6-series in India. The firm posted a short video of its Moto G6 and Moto G6 Play on  Twitter, which confirmed the arrivals of the phones in the country.

The teaser, which was shared by Motorola India, includes a short 14-seconds video appealing to all the techies, movie buffs, artists, photographers, explorers, and fashionistas to witness the Moto G6 and G6 Play launch. Additionally, Moto also created a dedicated site for users to register themselves for notifications surrounding the launch.

Apparently, the Plus variant of the G6 series that was launched alongside the aforementioned phones in Brazil last month was not teased in the video.

Moto G6 Play and G6 Features

The G6 Play is Moto’s new-entry level at mid-range segment, followed by Moto G6. The only visible difference between the two phones are the placement of fingerprint sensor, the Moto G6 has it on the front whereas the G6 Play sports it on the rear panel.

As for the specifications, both phones sport a 5.7-inch 18:9 display with Full HD+ and HD+ resolution, accordingly. They both run stock-Android Oreo out of the box.

The Moto G6 rocks a Snapdragon 450 SoC, paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB onboard storage. Whereas the Moto G6 Play is powered by slightly weaker chipset – Snapdragon 430, but with similar configuration. Both phones have a dedicated microSD card slot to boost the storage up to 256GB.

In optics, the Moto G6 sport a dual 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel sensors with dual-tone LED flash on the rear and an 16MP sensor on the front with selfie flash. In the similar context, the Moto G6 Play comes with a 13-megapixel primary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED, while a similar selfie flash and an 8-megapixel sensor on the front.

Moto G6 and G6 Play India Launch Date [Expected]

There is no exact date as to when Moto G6 and G6 Play will be launched in India. As for the pricing, the Moto G6 could cost you anywhere around Rs. 16,000 whereas the Moto G6 Play is expected to sell in India at a price of Rs. 13,000.

Meanwhile, Motorola is gearing up to launch the phones in China on May 17.
